What do you think the next big thing will be in your industry? I think the biggest advancement that we will see in the next few years is the use of stem cells to rejuvenate the face. In addition, I think that we will see further progression of research for the advancement of minimally invasive cosmetic techniques and procedures.
What is the most important thing for patients to know before coming to you? Patients need to know that when they come to me I will give them an honest opinion after hearing their concerns and needs. I will give them options for procedures that best fits their goals. So, before you come and visit me, its best for patients to realize that what they want done, might not be best for their overall goals. They need to be open to the suggestions that I will offer to give them the best results possible.
Favorite spot to spend an afternoon in Colorado? In the winter you can find me in the mountains of Vail or Breckenridge skiing.
Favorite Colorado restaurant? Del Frisco’s. No contest.
Favorite Colorado mountain town? Vail is great because it has more than just good skiing.
Favorite thing about living in Colorado? The number of sunny days each year.
How is the beauty/aesthetic industry different in Colorado than in other markets? I trained in Miami where people got the total cosmetic surgery package done. Their goal was to completely change their looks.
In Colorado, I see more patients who want subtle improvements and usually opt for minimally invasive surgery. People are so much more active here, so they want procedures with minimum downtime. These subtle improvements can boost a patients self esteem just as much as the person who gets multiple procedures done.
While training in Miami, Dr. Raval put in relentless hours seeing patients who were seeking total cosmetic surgery makeovers. It was during these years that he confirmed his principle that “Less is More,” a value he applies to every patient today.
“In Colorado, I see patients who want subtle cosmetic improvements vs. complete overhauls. They usually opt for minimally-invasive surgery,” says Dr. Raval. “That's because Coloradoans lead active lifestyles and they prefer procedures that require minimum downtime. Often they schedule a series of smaller procedures that allow them to gain all the benefits of facial rejuvenation while not missing a beat otherwise.”
Dr. Raval, who has been named Top Doctor of Facial Plastic Surgery by Castle Connolly Medical Organization for the last two years, as well as Best of the Best Cosmetic Surgeon runner-up By Colorado Community Newspapers, is adored by his patients and his double board certified in both Facial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery. Amongst other surgeons, he is regarded as “The Nose Guy” because of his vast expertise in Rhinoplasty.
Dr. Raval is also the medical director and owner of Rocky Mountain Laser Aesthetics where patients undergo laser treatments for everything from the newest acne treatment to hair removal and electrolysis.
