What to expect with Restylane treatments
During treatment, Restylane is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle to fill in scars, deep creases or to enhance the lip line. The result is immediate. A touch-up treatment within 2-4 weeks after the initial treatment may be necessary to achieve an optimal correction.

Pain control
A topical anesthetic cream can be applied to the area to be treated and in some cases, your physician will recommend a local anesthetic injection.

After treatment
Immediately following treatment, you can expect a slight redness, swelling, tenderness and sometimes an itching sensation in the treated area. Any discomfort is temporary. When using Restylane for lip augmentation, the swelling may last longer, sometimes a week.

One of the great advantages of Restylane is that it is long lasting, but not permanent. Unlike permanent treatments or implants, using Restylane leaves you with the option of re-evaluating your expectations once the initial effects of the injection have worn off. Side effects
After treatment some common injection-related reactions such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discoloration and tenderness may occur for up to a few days or up to a week in the case of lip injections.
